10:20 Waikato Hospital's running out of beds
Waikato Hospital is experiencing an influx of patients with nearly all of its 650 beds full because of a high number of elderly patients and sick children.
The hospital wants people with non-urgent conditions to first go to their GP or a chemist instead of its Emergency Department.
Waikato Hospital's Chief Operating Officer, Ron Dunham, speaks with Karyn about what people should do as the weekend approaches.

10:30 From Kupe to Cook
It's 250 years since Captain Cook's arrival in Aotearoa, and Pataka Art + Museum in Porirua is marking it with an exhibition that explores the voyagers who were first to come here.
The exhibition begins with the epic journey of Polynesian navigator Kupe who sailed by waka from Hawaiki to Aotearoa.
Director of Pataka Art + Museum, Reuben Friend, tells Karyn about the connection between Kupe and Porirua, and the artists with work in the exhibition Here: Kupe to Cook.
