10:28 Possum terrorises woman in Dunedin home

Late last night a woman in Dunedin called the police on a possum that was terrorising her in her own home. She said the possum would charge at her whenever she tried to leave the house and when the police arrived the possum climbed up the police officer's leg. It earned the nickname the 'Blacks Road Ripper', and after it was captured it was taken further up Signal Hill and released into the wild. Behaviour veterinarian and animal welfare and behaviour consultant, Rachael Stratton explains why the possum may have reacted the way it did.

10:38 DOC's "Low blow" fee decision

Fiordland businesses are describing the Department of Conservation's decision to resume concession fees for tourism companies operating in national parks as "Another kick in the guts". The Government has waived the fees for nearly two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic but DOC announced last week the fee waiver will end on December 31st. Fiordland Business Association chairman Nathan Benfell has called the move "a low blow" and joins Karyn to discuss the impact this will have on businesses.
