Today the Government announced from mid-January, all fully vaccinated New Zealanders travelling from Australia can skip MIQ and self-isolate for seven days. This is music to the ears of Kiwis abroad who have been struggling to land a spot in MIQ. Martin Newell is in Melbourne and joins Karyn to share his relief and excitement.

The Government has been criticised for pushing through legislation to assist the new traffic light system which National says has avoided normal levels of scrutiny. Chris Bishop strongly supports the idea that people should get vaccinated but believes the new law alienates those who are not vaccinated and don't want to be.

COVID-19 restrictions have put a dampener on the festive season but locals are still hoping to make the most of it. Dunedin City Council community services manager, Simon Pickford says some families are planning to do Christmas 2021 online.
