This year Matariki heri kai - the feast of Matariki is being shared across the motu. Who better to guide us through preparing kai for Matariki than hangi master Rewi Spraggon who's been putting down hangi to feed hundreds of people around the motu in these past days and coming weeks. Based at Te Henga Bethells Beach on the west coast of the Waitakere Ranges, Rewi prides himself on running the only large scale commercial hangi operatrion in the country that produce hangi food the old way. We found a spare few minutes to catch up earlier this week between Matariki heri kai.
