Seafood exports to US at risk over Maui dolphin decline

New Zealand's seafood exports to the US - worth $200 million dollars - could be dented by Aotearoa's failure to protect Maui dolphins. The US Court of International Trade is considering a ban on our seafood imports because of the dolphins' demise. Just 54 of the species remain. University of Otago Zoology professor emeritus Liz Slooten says the dolphins are teetering on the brink of extinction. She tells Māni Dunlop the fishing industry needs to take the issue -- and court challenge -- more seriously.
