Two Auckland sisters have waived their right to anonymity so they can name their step-father who sexually abused them.
Celeste and Tiana Smith were abused for years by 43-year-old Ira Hayes Ricky Manamana, who was sentenced on Friday to 16 years in jail after being convicted of nine charges of sexual violation, rape and indecent assault.
At their request the sisters' automatic name suppression was lifted, allowing them to name their abuser in the hope it will encourage other sexual abuse survivors to speak out.
