How the family home is divvied up after a divorce or separation could change under proposed new relationship property laws.
The Law Commission says the current law for dividing property on separation is out of date and in need of reform.
It's recommending a shift away from a straight 50-50 split, and instead couples should only have to split the the amount a property increased in value during the relationship.
