Parihaka bill passes final reading
The sound of haruru ceremonial drums - have echoed across Parliament's forecourt, as descendants of Parihaka arrived at Parliament. Their tupuna were victims of one of the most horrific Crown-invasions in Aotearoa's history. Around 200 attended the final reading of the Parihaka Reconciliation Bill yesterday, a law which aims to strengthen Parihaka's relationship with the Crown. We speak to Ruakere Hond, a descendant of Parihaka.
