Covid-19: Weekly border worker testing would double chances of detecting before community spread

Weekly testing of all border workers would double the chance of Covid-19 being detected before it could spread into the community.

Nearly two thirds of workers at the border had never been tested before the latest outbreak, and the government is set to announce its new surveillance plan today.

New modelling, by the Auckland University based research organisation, Te Pūnaha Matatini, says the testing is even more effective in keeping Covid-19 out if combined with symptom checks.
