The Supreme Court has called a jailed man's sentence "well beyond excessive punishment" - and a breach of the Bill of Rights.
The sentence comes down to the Three Strikes Law - and his lawyer says he wants the law repealed.
Wellington man Daniel Clinton Fitzgerald will now be resentenced.
