Just weeks after China signed a security agreement with Solomon Islands, that was met with outrage in New Zealand and Australia, it is now pushing a region-wide deal with almost a dozen more Pacific Island nations. The deal would cover policing, security and data communications. Corin Dann spoke with Dr Anna Powles, a senior lecturer at Massey University's Centre for Defence and Security.
