Charges have been dropped against two major contractors over unsafe roadworks where a young cyclist was killed in Christchurch. McConnell Dowell Constructors and Downer New Zealand have instead made binding agreements with Worksafe to contribute to roadwork safety improvements that add up to almost $2 million plus some reparations for the family.
