Home loan interest rates are likely to rise after a predicted rise in the official cash rate this afternoon.
The OCR is widely expected to rise by 50 points, to 2.5 percent.
Mortgage advisor Bruce Patten says he feels most for people who have bought their first home in the past two years, and are about to get a rude reality check.
