The government is expanding police powers in a bid to crack down on gang violence.
Under the new legislation officers will be able to search and seize gang properties, cars and motorbikes.
Previously, search warrants could only be issued for individuals and covered only specific vehicles or addresses.
Other changes include a new criminal offence is being introduced making it illegal to discharge a firearm with the intent to intimidate under any circumstances.
