The government's being told to urgently close a legal loophole in the rules for political party donations that experts say make this country ripe for overseas exploitation.
It's been brought to a head by the New Zealand First Foundation case - two men accused of mishandling donations were acquitted by the High Court on Friday.
The judgement means shadow entities can bankroll political parties, without having to identify donors.
Now there are calls for reform before the next year's election but the Government says there's not enough time to do it properly.
