A medical lawyer and former nurse says the court followed well established laws in taking temporary guardianship of a baby while it undergoes surgery and post-operative recovery.
The child's parents had gone to court because they didn't want doctors to use blood from anyone who had the Covid-19 vaccine.
The four-month-old needs open heart surgery, which will likely require a blood transfusion.
Liberty Law lawyer Rebecca Keenan has been reading the judgement.
She spoke to Māni Dunlop.
In a post attributed to the parent's lawyer, Sue Grey, and supporter, Liz Gunn, on the Facebook page of the Outdoors and Freedom Party, they say there is no time to appeal the decision, and the priority for the family is to spend time with their baby before the surgery.
