Lawyer on possible investigation into Alan Hall conviction

From Morning Report, 7:22 am on 21 December 2022

The prosecution lawyers involved in the wrongful conviction of Alan Hall may now become the subject of a police investigation.

Alan Hall was wrongly jailed for more than two decades, after evidence was deliberately altered and he was unfairly interviewed - something the Supreme Court says was either extreme incompetence or a deliberate, wrongful strategy to achieve a conviction.

An independent report into the prosecution's actions has been completed and submitted to the Solicitor General, who has decided police should now deal with the matter.

Criminal defence lawyer Marie Dyhrberg, has some reservations about that.

She spoke to Gyles Beckford.
