Bay of Plenty is another region to have been impacted by the severe weather hitting parts of the northern and eastern North Island over recent weeks - a period when New Zealanders usually flock to the tourist hotspots.
The general manager of Tourism Bay of Plenty, Oscar Nathan, says in their case, however, the return of cruise ships has been the silver lining in the storm cloud.
