The classic album is available on vinyl for the first time ever and to celebrate, original member Barnaby Weir joins Charlotte Ryan.
The Black Seeds upcoming shows:
Tuesday 31 December, Wellington, New Zealand, Brewtown

2.15 Essential Albums: Ladi 6 - The Liberation Of...
When the single ‘Like Water’ hit the New Zealand top ten in early 2011 it established Ladi6 as this country’s major R&B star. But that success was just one milestone in a long journey, and the song just one important track in the making of essential New Zealand album, as Nick Bollinger explains.
3.15 Mustafa: The Toronto folk poet on his grief
Sudanese Canadian artist Mustafa is an acclaimed performance poet and was first discovered at the age of 12 performing outside his home in Toronto’s housing projects.
His poetry opened many doors which led him to write with musicians such as The Jonas Brothers, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber, and he work creatively with fashion designers Valentino and written and directed a film.
At 28 years old, Mustafa has released his debut album Dunya. He shares the personal grief that surrounds the album.
3:40 MOKOTRON on music’s role in decolonisation
MOKOTRON is a Ngāti Hine music producer based in Tāmaki Auckland, who is part of a Māori electronic music scene that has become a creative force.
The man behind MOKOTRON is Tiopira McDowell - by day a lecturer in Māori Studies, and co-head of the Māori and Pacific Studies at Auckland Uni, and by night, an artist who has gained a reputation for getting the clubs heaving with a sound that’s distinctly Aotearoa, playing taonga pūoro and speaking te reo over some serious bass.
MOKOTRON has just released Waerea, and joins Charlotte Ryan on Music 101.
MOKOTRON upcoming shows:
The 95bFM Christmas Party, Friday 20th December - Whammy / Double Whammy / Public Bar, Auckland
