10:45 How the NZ Crime and Victims survey works

Rebecca Parish works for the Ministry of Justice, and she leads the New Zealand Crime and Victims Survey.

You may have heard a lot about this survey recently, because just a few weeks ago it came out that violent crime was on the rise, months after the government's new crime reduction targets were brought in.

It's one of the few ways victims of crime are captured as a group in New Zealand, even reaching victims who never reported a crime to police.

Rebecca Parish joins Emile Donovan to explain how the survey works.
