It's your chance to own a decent chunk of our political history. Palmerston North man James Pettengell is selling his extensive collection of Robert Muldoon memorabilia, or as he calls it, 'Piggyarna'.

The collection includes an order of service from the former Prime Minister's funeral, a YMCA soccer club photo, a Robert Muldoon gnome and props from the McPhale and Gatsby show.

It's all up on TradeMe right now, but you better get in quick: the auction closes at 10:45 pm tonight.

10:17 A win for farmers: Wool to be used in new government builds and renovations

Pure wool is synonymous with fluffy sheep, baby booties and well, heartland New Zealand - but the reality is that the industry has long struggled against the rise of artificial alternatives.  

So it's not surprising that today's government announcement mandating the use of woolen fibres in new government builds and renovations that meet certain budget thresholds is cause for industry celebration.

Australian comedian, Heath Franklin, is bringing his show, "Chopper: The Last Hard Bastard on Earth", to towns and cities all across New Zealand next month.

He joins Emile Donovan to reflect on twenty years of doing Chopper, being known as 'the sweary comedian', and his story of actually meeting Chopper Read.

10:45 Thousands of items made from endangered species confiscated at the border

You may not have heard the acronym CITES before, but last year more than 6,000 items were seized and surrendered under its watch.

CITES stands for the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and it monitors and regulates the international movement of items made from protected species.

Mark Ryan is the Department of Conservation's Border Operations Team Lead and he speaks to Emile about what's being confiscated at the border.
