Kiwi storyteller Maddie Dai is the screenwriter behind New Zealand feature film We Were Dangerous, following a group of institutionalised teenage girls.

She's also been in the writer's room for TV series Our Flag Means Death and The Power.

Before venturing into screenwriting, Maddie was (and remains) an accomplished cartoonist - with her work being published in New Yorker magazine.
