The Reserve Bank raises interest rates from a record low

Shamubeel Eaqub, the principal economist at the NZ Institute of Economic Research, looks at the central bank's decision to raise interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point to 2.75%. New Zealand is the first developed country to raise rates since the global financial crisis.
