The government is going into 2020 with a massive workplan for the education sector.
It is making huge legislative changes for schools, merging all of the country's polytechnics and facing increasingly desperate demands from early learning centres.
Education correspondent John Gerritsen has been casting an eye over the year ahead and says he expects there to be a lot of action after the Government's Tomorrow's Schools review.
