Nicola Lacey is Senior Research Fellow and Professor of Criminal Law and Legal Theory at All Souls College, Oxford. She talks with Chris about philosophies of criminal justice, and the budget pressure on politicians to decrease prison numbers - without being seen to be soft on crime. Professor Lacey was in New Zealand to present the annual Shirley Smith honorary address for the Women in Law section of the NZ Law Society.
