Australia made it three Rugby League World Cups in a row at Old Trafford this morning. But many were more emotionally invested in the team opposing them. Toa Samoa may not have won but a lot of people in the world were willing Samoa to win, and certainly a great many in Samoa and Aotearoa. 30-1

What a morning for Samoan communities across New Zealand.

Joining us is Alf Filipaina Auckland City councillor, brother of the late Olsen Filipaina, The Big O, who died earlier this year, and who played top league in Australia, captained Samoa, and also played for New Zealand.

When Matt Toogood and wife Tess moved to the UAE in 2008 with their two boys, Matt didn't have one at first, but he and his business partner Kim Thompson started up a coffee roasting company.

It's grown and grown. Matt's also been barista of the year in the UAE. 3000 or so kiwis live in Dubai; education's very good but expensive. And of course, it’s where the past meets the future, there's an actual Museum of the Future, and plenty of the past on view in the city's markets and souks.

The 1924 All Blacks were known as 'The Invincibles'. They toured the UK, Ireland, France and Canada and won all 32 of their games, including tests against England, Wales, Ireland and France.

There were some legendary names on that team including the amazing George Nepia,Jock Richardson, Cliff Porter, and the Brownlie brothers, Cyril and Maurice.

Almost fully forgotten now is Andrew White, a former All Blacks captain who in the First World War fought at Gallipoli, Messines and the Somme.
