There's an only child stereotype. They're spoiled, inevitably self-centered and lonely. How much of that is true? 

Amanda Ruggeri is a journalist who spent eight years on the BBC's international features team. She's been the editor of BBC future. She specialises  in the science of parenting and child development, and she's been examining the evidence around how growing up without siblings affects personality traits and well-being.
