    Major Western powers are united in their conclusion. Russia, they say, carried out the first offensive use of a nerve agent in Europe since the Second World War. The attack happened in the English city of Salisbury, where former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent. This Sunday, the Russian people are expected to elect Mr Putin for a fourth consecutive term. So as Russia and the West begin a new diplomatic showdown, trhe BBC’s Carrie Gracie chairs a panel in London to ask what does President Putin want to achieve: for himself, for Russia, and abroad?     Faith in Freedom: Dr Sina Hakiman
    Dr Sina Hakiman was imprisoned three times by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, accused of heresy. In total he spent more than seven years in jail in the years after the return of Ayatollah Khomeini to Tehran. He now lives in exile in the UK. Sina explains to John McCarthy his belief that all religions are valid and that Baha’u’llah is the latest prophet of God following Moses, Muhammed and Jesus.  Sustained by a philosophy of ‘constructive resilience’ he worked inside the prison as a doctor, while his wife Sholeh continued her husband’s fight for his human rights by setting up a medical clinic.
