A solar-powered plane trying to circumnavigate the world has finished crossing the United States and landed in New York City after flying over the Statue of Liberty.
The Solar Impulse 2 took off from the United Arab Emirates at the start of its historic bid to circle the globe.
The next task is the arduous crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, for which the plane's support team says timing is key.
They said the slow-moving, ultra-light plane needs benign winds, and the right conditions for the three to four day flight might not present themselves for several weeks.
