Bus tours of the cordoned area in central Christchurch began on Tuesday.
The Red Bus company last month won a contract to run the tours, after the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority called tenders.
Red Bus says 45-minute tours will initially run four times per day, seven days per week, with tickets costing $15.
Chief executive Paul McNoe says more than 300 bookings have already been made for the next few weeks.
He says the route depends on minimising any risks from building demolition.
