A charity concert celebrating more than 45,000 hours of volunteer work in Christchurch was being held in the city on Saturday.
The event, organised by Student Volunteer Army creator Sam Johnson, is for the 10,000 people who have given or pledged to give at least four hours of their time to do unpaid work around the city.
Performers including Hollie Smith, Dane Rumble, Avalanche City and Goodshirt are playing for free.
Volunteer army chairman Raf Manji says support has exceeded all expectations. He says a verification process has been set up to check people carry out the volunteer projects.
Gates opened at 1pm for eight hours of music featuring 25 New Zealand acts.
