Vero Insurance says post-earthquake repair work in Christchurch will accelerate early next year as the construction phase of the rebuild gathers momentum.
The company says it has settled almost half of its nearly 20,000 commercial and domestic earthquake claims.
It says it has paid out more than $1.7 billion altogether and is currently paying $80 million to $100 million in claims each month.
Vero has about 200 repairs and rebuild projects ready to begin and expects to have up to 600 more by Christmas.
Construction start dates for residential customers range between early next year and 2015.
