国家应急管理局（National Emergency Management Agency NEMA）表示，发生在南岛南部海域的6.7级地震没有海啸风险。
今天（3月25日）下午2点43分，新西兰南岛以南海域、 Snares Islands西北方向160公里处发生6.7级地震。
震级最初判定为里氏7级，随后被下调。
在NEMA和新西兰地质及核科学研究所（GNS Science）进行评估后，认为对新西兰陆地不构成海啸风险。
目前，南岛南部地区的公众仍然被建议远离海岸和海洋区域。
据悉地震发生时有4500人有震感。
