For the first time in nearly two and a half years, New Zealand's border will be opened to all visitors, at midnight tonight.
Cruise ships and recreational yachts will also be able to arrive at New Zealand ports.
The government says this marks the final step in its reconnecting plan, allowing visitors from non-visa waiver countries and international students able to apply for a visa to enter the country.
Tourism Minister Stuart Nash said it is great news for the tourism industry and the economy in general, with spring and summer coming and people from the northern hemisphere booking their winter holidays.
