Two men have been arrested after two women were robbed at gunpoint while responding to a car advertisement on Facebook in Masterton.
The women met the men last month to buy a car but were later attacked by them, police said.
Officers made the arrests when they searched a Masterton house looking for the gun used in the robbery.
Charges were yet to be laid.
While a robbery like this was unusual, people should be careful when meeting up to buy anything advertised online, they said.
