Magnitude 4.2 earthquake strikes near Seddon

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake has struck the top of the South Island this morning.

The 12-kilometre deep quake hit just after 7am, five kilometres southeast of Seddon.

More than 150 people have reported feeling the moderate shake to GeoNet.
