Fire crews have brought a blaze at an historic pub in mid-Canterbury under control.

Fire and Emergency was called to the blaze at the Canterbury Hotel, known as the Brown Pub, on Main Street in Methven shortly after 9.20am.
Nine crews were at the scene and brought the fire under control.
