Seven new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in managed isolation and quarantine in the past two days.

The Ministry of Health revealed the latest coronavirus numbers in a written statement this afternoon.
With eight recoveries, active cases were at 49 and total cases at 1795. There were no new cases in the community.
The new cases:
- Arrived 14 December from the United States, testing positive on day 12
- Arrived 22 December from India, testing positive on day six as a contact of a previous case
- Three cases arrived on 24 December - two travelling separately from India via United Arab Emirates; the third from the US - testing positive around day three
- Arrived 25 December from London via Singapore and tested on day two after showing symptoms
- Arrived 28 December from US and tested on day one after showing symptoms
The ministry warned that with no restrictions on gathering sizes, large scale events could continue but that meant New Zealanders should continue to be vigilant for symptoms.
People who became symptomatic at such an event should go home, rather than remain, the ministry said, but should also contact Healthline immediately.
The ministry also encouraged people to continue using the NZ Covid Tracer app on public transport, and continue practising good hygiene.
On Sunday, the ministry reported 16 new cases over the four days since Wednesday 23 December.
