A man with a serious stab wound was found on a footpath in Palmerston North early this morning.

Police say they were called to Pinedale Parade in the suburb of Milson about 2am and found the injured man.
He was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery, and is now in a stable condition.
Police say they do not believe it was a random attack.
They have finished a forensic scene examination and are asking anyone with information about the incident to report it to police by calling 105 and quoting file number 220312/7054.
