It's time once again to reset your internal and external clocks as daylight saving time begins overnight.

Daylight saving begins at 2am Sunday.

A health expert said adjustment to daylight saving hours should take a few days.

Guy Warman at the University of Auckland's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences said that by getting sunlight early in the day, people can adjust to the new times quicker.

"The best thing to do, to adjust rapidly to daylight savings time, get as much light as you can in the morning for the first couple of days and most people will find that they've adjusted to daylight savings time within two or three days at the most."

Warman said the September change is much harder than in autumn when clocks go backward.
