A major Auckland road has reopened after being closed by police during an "incident".
Police say they have resolved the situtation at a home on Portage Road in New Lynn, which saw part of the road closed.
In a statement, Inspector Rod Carpinter said the incident, involving two people known to each other, was reported aboout 3am. It was contained to a home.
Earlier on Friday, one person was taken from the house, Carpinter said.
Police negotiated with a second person inside to come out.
Police said there was no wider risk to the public, but they would remain present in the area this morning.
