Motorists on State Highway 29 in the Kaimai Ranges are being told to turn their airconditioning off and keep windows closed due to an asbestos waste spill.
The spill follows an earlier crash on the motorway between either ends of the Old Kaimai Road.
Waka Kotahi said crews were working to remove the asbestos waste from the road and motorists should expect delays.
