Firefighters on Sunday morning were dampening down hotspots at the scene of a house fire north of Whangārei.
Fire and Emergency said three firetrucks worked to extinguish the blaze, which broke out at a two-storey house in Hikurangi about 5.25am.
Fire crews also extinguished a large blaze at a scrapyard in Ōtāhuhu in Auckland, which was reported at about 10pm Saturday.
