A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on Riccarton Road in Christchurch on Tuesday afternoon.
The person was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Police said the person died in hospital as a result of their injuries on Wednesday.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
