Police have released the name of the man who died while cycling near Wānaka over the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash involving a cyclist at the intersection of State Highway 84 and Anderson Road about 3.50pm Saturday.
Hiroto Shimura, a 25-year-old Japanese national, died at the scene.
Police have asked anyone who might have witnessed the crash, or who had dashcam footage, to get in touch via the 105 service, quoting the event number P059269528
