A pick and mix of wild weather has swept across the country overnight and today, causing flooding, fallen trees and wintry scenes.
Residents in Pahiatua in the Tararua District continue to clean up after some homes in the town were flooded on Sunday.
Fallen trees due to high winds caused power outages in Auckland, while snow transformed parts of the South Island into "a Christmas scene".
