Some residents in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga are without power after a vehicle crash.

A map on Vector's website showed power was out to homes and businesses from Authur Street south, and between State Highway 20 and Onehunga Mall.

It said the outage was caused by a vehicle hitting a power pole or other electrical equipment.

Internet restored

In South Auckland, internet has been restored to in Onehunga and Māngere Bridge after an outage that started on Tuesday.

Cables running under the Māngere Bridge were vandalised, cutting internet to 3000 properties.

Crews worked overnight night to fix the outage and the final connections were restored on Wednesday.

Chorus spokesperson Cindy Duck said crews using ladders and scaffolding had rejoined the damaged fibres that ran underneath the bridge.

Chorus had notified police, she said. Any ongoing issues in South Auckland were unrelated to the damaged cables.
