One dead after car goes down bank in Hawke's Bay

One person is dead and two seriously injured after a car when down a bank in Havelock North on Thursday night.

Police said they were called to a single-vehicle crash on Foster Lane about 10pm.

One person was found dead, two others were seriously injured.

The Serious Crash Unit had conducted a scene examination and police enquiries were continuing, they said.

The death brings the holiday road toll to 13.

The official Christmas holiday period started at 4pm on Christmas Eve and ended at 6am Friday.
