A Dunedin man has been charged with the manslaughter of another man who died weeks after falling from a moving trailer.
Andrew Jayden Mercer, 31, appeared at the Dunedin District Court on Thursday, after the fall in Brockville on 29 March.
He faced the new manslaughter charge as well as previous charges of reckless driving causing injury, refusing a compulsory impairment test and failure to carry out obligations in relation to a computer search.
The Otago Daily Times reported police alleged the two men argued before the victim got on the trailer, and then fell off when the car took off.
He was critically injured and died in hospital last week.
