The police have launched a fresh appeal for information about the unexplained disappearance of Nelson man Leo Lipp-Neighbours five years ago today.
The 19-year-old Canterbury University student was last seen on the 24 January, 2010 after a night out with friends.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston said the case was still open and Leo's disappearance was still unexplained.
"We're hoping to get that one nugget of information that will lead us in the right direction to resolve this matter.
"Our inquiries have been exhaustive over the last five years but to date they have not brought any resolution.
"In the back of everyone's mind is the thought that someone out there may know something.
"As each anniversary rolls around we hope someone will be motivated to come forward and share information that will bring the answers we all seek."
The police have said previously they believe Mr Lipp-Neighbours could have been the victim of foul play.
Mr Johnston said anyone with information can contact Nelson Police on 03 546 3840 or Crimestoppers: 0800 555 111.
